Founded by former major league baseball player Mike Kingery, Solid Foundation Baseball School provides personal lessons and instruction throughout the year to baseball players across Central and Southern Minnesota and the Twin Cities Metro Area, as well as small group sessions in the winter, spring, and summer.

2009 Spring Training Camps are now being offered in Big Lake, Burnsville, Eden Prairie, Eden Valley, Hanover, Kandiyohi, and St. Cloud with additional locations to be added. Spring Training sessions with SFBS will run from December 2008 through April 2009. Check out the new schedule:

Attention Parents/Coaches/Students!!

We have acquired a state-of-the-art pitching machine called the Pro Batter! The Pro Batter (www.probatter.com) that we have is the only one in the state of Minnesota that is available for public use (Professional PX2 baseball model)! The Pro Batter will be located at our beautiful new Big Lake location. It is a pitching machine that will give you the most real life game practice possible! The Pro Batter has a big video screen where you watch a Major League pitcher throw to you, the batter. The machine throws fastballs from 40-90 mph. It also throws sliders, curveballs and changeups without you having to go to the machine and make an adjustment. It is all run by computer and it is a great training tool!

The mission of Solid Foundation Baseball School is to train and lead each student to reach their full potential as a baseball player, an athlete, and a person.

SFBS remains committed to a low student-to-teacher ratio so that we can properly train each player in the correct mechanics of hitting, throwing, pitching, infielding, outfielding, catching, and baserunning - using lessons learned at the major league level.

At SFBS, we DO NOT use a cookie-cutter approach for teaching our students. Through professional assessment and evaluation, each student is given player-specific techniques so they will be able to, through application, reach their highest potential.

SFBS works hard to provide every student a chance to achieve their goals, whatever they may be. SFBS also hosts tryout camps with professional baseball scouts to help students who have the desire and skill to play at the next level realize their dreams.

Solid Foundation Baseball School, Inc. was founded in 1997 by Atwater, MN native and former major league baseball player Mike Kingery. Mike earned 17 years of professional baseball experience as an outfielder with the Kansas City Royals, Seattle Mariners, San Francisco Giants, Oakland A's, Colorado Rockies and Pittsburgh Pirates.

Solid Foundation has at its roots the desire to encourage baseball players in their quest to be the best they can be, both personally and athletically. The key to our success is the individual attention we are able to provide to each student through our low student-to-teacher ratio. From May through October, we offer the SFBS 60/50 individual lesson program where you meet with a professional SFBS instructor for one hour to work on whatever aspect of your game you choose. In June, July, and August, Mike Kingery and SFBS staff travel to various locations across the state for one-week Summer Training Camps, often sponsored by local baseball or community ed. and recreation organizations.
