Solid Foundation Baseball School believes strongly in helping SFBS players receive opportunities to showcase their talents. Whether your goal is to be on the grade school team, to earn an athletic scholarship, or to play professional baseball; SFBS will remain committed to provide you with excellent training options as well as genuine opportunities to have your skills showcased and improvements recognized by coaches and scouts.

Each year, SFBS hosts a Pro Tryout Camp where SFBS students take the chance to be evaluated by professional baseball scouts from major league teams including the Milwaukee Brewers, Atlanta Braves, and New York Mets. SFBS students aged 15 years and older, including this year's graduating class, are invited to attend.

Our SFBS/MLB pro tryout camps are structured to include the following events:

• All students will run the 60 yd. dash
  
• All outfielders will throw:
  • 6 balls from right field (approx. 250 ft)
  • 3 balls thrown to third base
  • 3 balls thrown to home plate
    
• All 3rd basemen, shortstops, and 2nd basemen will field 6-8 ground balls from shortstop and throw the ball to 1st base
  
• All 1st basemen will field and throw 6-8 ground balls at 1st base and throw to 3rd base
  
• All catchers will throw 5 balls to 2nd base with their catchers gear on (Catchers must bring their own catching gear)
  
• All students will take batting practice taking 10-12 swings
  
• All pitchers will throw 10-15 pitches

College, professional, and MLB scouts are continually looking for new talent and attending an SFBS/MLB sponsored showcasing event will help provide baseball players with great exposure - or simply may just be a dream come true for some players.

SFBS ran the Second Annual Pro Tryout Camp at Saints Field in Dassel, MN on August 10, 2006. About 100 SFBS students participated, with 10 students being selected to travel to Illinois for a follow-up evaluation with the Atlanta Braves. SFBS also ran the First Annual Pro Tryout Camp with Harvey Kuenn, Regional Scout for the Milwaukee Brewers major league baseball team (territory includes: MN, SD, ND, WI, IA, NE, IL) in 2005.
